Meyer Elementary hosting Picasso exhibit
Meyer Elementary is hosting an exhibit of works by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso through March 12.
The traveling exhibit of reproductions of Picasso’s masterpieces is made possible through a grant from the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation (L.E.A.F.)
In her grant request, Meyer Art teacher Judy Fang, said the exhibit will not only provide students the opportunity to view the works of an important artist who transformed the world with "Cubism," but will also teach them about the man Picasso and the history behind his works.
The exhibit is open to the public during school hours, 7:45 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
Innovative grants such as this are only possible through the generosity of the community. L.E.A.F.’s next fundraising event --Men Who Cook -- will be February 20 at Safari Texas. Call Janice Knight at 832-223-0334 for tickets and information.
